Oil Purification Systems
Technology Introduction
•Removes particles of all sizes, varnish & products of oxidation.
•Maintains fluid & machinery internals cleaner than new condition.
•Minimal maintenance required.
•Environmental and economic cost benefits due to reduced oil consumption and disposal.
The Purification Process
•The technology introduces a controlled current, producing both positive and negative charged particles.
•The charged particles attracts and form larger particles which can then be captured and removed
•The results: Removal of contaminants from the fluid to a significantly better level than attained by filtration only –introducing sub-micron particles
•The resultant purified fluid will remove varnish/sludge from machinery internals

Purification Technology

Purification Technology

Installation
•The Purification units typically attach as a "kidney loop" to the reservoir or tank where the contaminated fluid is stored.
•The Purification unit pulls fluid from the bottom of the reservoir to get as much sludge as possible.
•Purified fluid is returned to a high point diametrically opposite to the supply point to clean as much of the reservoir as possible.
Pre Filtering
•Contaminated fluid is first pulled through a basket strainer to protect the pump.
•The fluid is then is pushed through a pre-filter to remove particles larger than 3 mm.
Charging
•The fluid flow is split into two separate paths and enters a "Charging Area" where particles that pass through the pre-filter are exposed to high voltage electric fields.
•A high positive (+) voltage is applied to one path and a high negative (-) voltage to the other, hence a "Balanced Charge" is transferred to any particles that get near the electrodes.
•Because of the electrode’s design, most small particles receive an electrical charge either positive or negative.
Mixing
•The two flows are then mixed in a high turbulence "Mixing Chamber."
•Since dissimilar charges attract, the highly charged small particles electrostaticlycling to each other (Agglomerate) thus grow in size.
Collection
•When several small particles attach to each other, they become larger and therefore easier to remove through conventional filtration.
•The "Collection Filter" removes the enlarged particles before the fluid is returned to the reservoir.
Results
•Since some small charged particles circulate through the machine, they tend to neutralize any previously existing charge in the system.
•Deposits and sludge are slowly brought back into solution, where they can be removed on successive passes.
•The collection cartridge is specially designed to collect products of oxidation which contribute to sludge.
•Since the Purification removes even very small particles, it also removes the surface area needed for water to collect on.
Benefits
•Base oil is returned to better than original condition.
•Surface tension is improved.
•Interfacial tension is improved.
•Dielectric properties are improved.
•Thermal capacity is improved
•Lubricating properties generally improved.
•Solubility of most gases is greatly reduced.
•The entire machine is deep cleaned of contamination
•Water content is greatly reduced.
Effects of Purification
•Charged particles are attracted to oppositely charged and uncharged particles.
•All particle sizes grow during the process and become easier to filter.
•All particles over one micron in size generally have no net charge.
•The small highly charged particles clean the balance of the system
